Default Robert Enke Dead

Robert Enke, the German and Hanover has died tonight at the age of 32.

It appears that he was hit by an oncoming train at a crossing and the police are treating it as suicide.

All my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.

RIP

I was at the match between Cologne and Hannover last week, this is a bit of a shock.

This is beating the shite out of me. The man was a professional footballer, highly respected at that, he was a damn good keeper. He would definitely have been in Germany's squad for the world cup in South Africa next year.

He had a wife and a kid and he was obviously making more than the minimum wage.

I just don't get it.

If someone is really depressed and can see no light at the end op the tunnel i can understand why they would do this ....the mind is a weird contraption and sometime's life becomes to much to handle .
RIP Robert Enke

Anyone out there know anything about depression. This man was 32 years of age, he had a wife and a kid and he was a professional footballer who also played for his country. What more do you want from life?

I know that his daughter died at the age of 2 a while back which may have been a factor here.

I have had depression a few times and had two breakdowns and they are not nice, they can suddenly happen for no real reason.

I think you are right that the death of his daughter has played a big part in his death, it is something that you can't replace and at least he is there with her now.
