It is a tough draw for Ireland but I would really like to see them getting through to the finals in South Africa.

I predicted France when chatting with my mates the other day. Obviously Greece would have been the easier team to play that where seeded but out of Portugal, Russia and France I would have preferred France. They are not the super team they were 10 years ago. Ireland have did ok against France in recent years and I fancy our chances.

I'm sure Ireland ain't happy with FIFA's decision to make the play-offs seeded.

And drawing France in the play-offs sums this up.

Good luck to them.

France aren't the team they used to be otherwise they would have won their group.
I think we can win this, the pressure is on them as they are the favourites.
Not too worried about us playing the first leg in Dublin, we put in some good performances away during the group stages.

I agree France aren't the team they used to be, any of the 4 teams were going to be a huge challenge. Although I don't fancy the 2nd leg in Paris, Ireland can pull something out of this. If Henry can be marked then you never know.

Will be some night in Croker...

I see where the french have restricted us to 8,000 (10% of the stadium capacity) tickets for the game in Paris. Wanna bet there might be a few more than that at the match........
